Resistance 3

There has been yet another Resistance 3 sighting, this time by online retailer eStarland. According to a retail listing on the site, the Chimera will launch their next attack on March 24, 2011.

The synopsis also provides a brief plot summary, stating, "Continue the fight against the Chimera invasion in Resistance 3, as the battle moves to New York City and humanity makes its final stand." How "final" is this final stand going to be? Will this be the last of the Resistance titles? Or is all that just marketing hyperbole to drum up more interest in the game?

This isn't the first time the existence of Resistance 3 has been leaked, as it also showed up on a billboard on a movie set late last year. Furthermore, Sony sent out a survey in March asking gamers if they'd be interested in a new Resistance title. So basically, in true Sony fashion, this game is fast becoming the worst-kept secret in gaming.

So what about the release date, is March a feasible time to launch the game? In a lot of ways it's a puzzler because it's not a month when major games typically debut. Then again, Sony may be trying to keep Resistance out of the holiday feeding frenzy in order to create some space and give the game a better shot at success.

One thing that's truly weird about all this is that Sony hasn't shown the game to the public yet and it's rumored to be showing up in less than a year. No announcements at GDC or E3, and nothing so far at Comic Con. If TGS comes and goes without word of Resistance 3 then it would be a fairly big surprise to see such a big-name platform exclusive launch early next year without a major show announcement.

We continue to wait for official confirmation from Sony or Insomniac but so far nobody's talking.

I'm pretty sure they will release the R3 in 2011 and hoping that it will be a 3D game

No doubt the trailer is awesome and i like all the weapons specailly the X-ray vision Auger but am happy to see the Carb is still there. sept. 6th is the release date and i also heard rumor about a movie based on Resistance game

yeah man cant wait for september. heard that rumor of a movie too, there is a movie comming out soon about an alien attack and the air ships in the movie look alot like VTOL's from R1 (double bladed chopper)

Yea I was checking that out earlier today. I dig the fact that you can carry multiple weapons like the R1. To mention that it also looks really gritty even more than the first game. R2 was just tooooo colorful. Nothing but happy thoughts lol

Dude did you download the Killzone 3 Open Beta? It came out today on the psn. Haven't had a chance to download it yet but I will soon. Keep hearing good things about it.

really iv heard a few ppl might not be impressed with kz3 some websites apparently gave it a few bad reveiws. hmm but the beta is free you say? il have to grab that when i get home.

yeah man the r3 gameplay reminds me more of Resistance FoM, like the use of the colour grey and a sort of watered down blue, just like FoM, weapon wheell!!!! i m just wondering about the carbine, special grenades, game modes, and of course the story-line and also how is the running around like... more like FoM (fast, quick footsteps) or like R2 (slow, heavy)

unfortunatly NO details concerning online multi-player. LOL

kz3 beta.... hmmmmm i'll try it out but i'm not a kz2 fan

Yea the Beta is free for download on the PSN. Gametrailers gave it a 9.4, and IGN gave it a 8.5 I believe. 8.5 is still a pretty solid score. Anything under 7.5 would be horrible lol. But from what i've read, the sluggish controls are no longer in KZ3. They fixed that issue since it was what divided the fan base in KZ2. Plus the addition of Co-op is always a plus in my book. I dig Killzone, it's something new which I'm always opened to. But each to their own.

I know man I hope they don't fuck up the Carbine. It was really weak and didn't even feel like a gun, felt like some sorta nerf toy. I've read some stuff on the story line and you'll be playing as the dude that kill Hale. I forgot his name though. Capelli was it? I say as long as they keep it grim and dark with butt loads of action i'm all for it. And I'm crossing my fingers the online will be worth it and better than R2 for I did not enjoy that at all.

last night I played few rounds of KZ3 beta online, took me a while to understand the controller settings LOL and yes i agree with others It's GOOD...

Today i joined the Insomniac Community Forum and glad to see that MR-Serious23 is raising voice about Carbine for R3 http://www.insomniacgames.com/community/index.php?topic=54780.0

Yea it took me a while to get to use to the melee with L1, that's ridiculous. But it was the only feature that allowed me to aim with R3. I hate aiming FPS games with L1. I can't get use to it. R.FOM spoiled me lol. Hopefully the layout system will have more features upon its release.
Haha fucking Mr.Serious23... I don't like that guy. He thinks he's all that and a bag of candy, but I will agree he does have a point from what I read and I myself am glad to see that too.

you can change your control style from classic killzone to a controll most like CoD

so far mr.serious makes more sence on insomniaccs forum than most others, when i see his name i tend to read what he said right away

I really hope R3 won't be a dissapointment. R2 was just garbage. If R3 is anything like R1, but better graphics, colour and so forth, I will definately buy it. I never play campaign modes on any games, so i'm just interested in the online gaming. As long as thats good, I'm A OK!..
